We are delighted to have been invited by Powys County Council to form part of a new Builth Wells Community Hub located in the Old Tourist Information Centre building in The Groe Car Park. Other community services will be available at that location.
The record flood levels of the River Wye in February due to storms Ciara and Dennis caused serious damage to the Old TIC building and Powys County Council have closed it to the public on Health and Safety grounds until repairs and refurbishment can be completed. This has a major impact on the ability of the credit union to provide our usual level of service in Builth Wella. To enable us to continue supporting our members, arrangements have been made for use of a room at Antur Gwy * at the usual opening hours. The level of service that will be available is yet to be determined but it will be somewhat limited, as much of our equipment will not be available. Go through the automatic doors and bear left. Room A20 is through the door to the left of the Library counter. Our usual phone number will not be available, at least initially, and use of the alternative 01597 824000 is recommended. We are very sorry about this but the situation is outside our control.*Antur Gwy is in a converted school building west of the town centre and near the Fire Station. 10 - 15 minute walk from the Groe across the fields or through the churchyard.
Repairs to the Groe building are in hand and we hope to be able to return there in the not too distant future.
